#Kurilpa Derby Tote Bag

This little tote bag features 36 actual humans of past derbies. In case you don’t know, the Kurilpa Derby is the best day of the year. Locals reclaim the main street of 4101.

It starts with a procession down Boundary Street from Dornoch Terrace bridge. You see a range of transport modes like bikes, scooters, skateboards, go-carts, wheelie bins, and DIY’d floats.

This event is all thanks to wonderful volunteers and a huge amount of work from the West End Community Association goes into making it happen. This bag was created to raise money for WECA and the event.

The exact events vary from year-to-year but in the past there have been skate jams, musical performances, roving performers, and flash mobs.

In an ideal world, I’d have time to create a new tote bag each year with real humans who participated in the previous year.
