#Kurilpa Community Day

Back in 2021 (covid times), @west.end.community.association put on a very special event in Davies Park in lieu of the usual Derby and Beggars’ Banquet.

A team of volunteers worked really hard to bring the event together and offer a similar Derby day experience, with jam packed, variety-filled, fun for everyone to escape, connect with each other after experiencing lockdowns.

With a lot of families present and being one of the fastest growing demographics (with many living in units) it also really brought to light how critical green space availability is to wellbeing, gathering, community and connection, which is something WECA will continue to advocate for.

As you can see, I knocked out a poster to promote the day, which tried to capture all the going on’s for the day.
