In primary school I often played in the backyard of this house on Doris Street with my friend Anika and her younger brother, Dani. They lived there at the time. I used to sleep over and we’d watch Disney channel and eat Coco Pops (which is a huge deal if you know my mum). Her mum Janelle even taught me piano, but I was a truly terrible student.

Since then, Anika and I have lived together on Crowther street, and she remains one of the best humans you’ll ever meet. She asked me to draw their old house for Dani’s birthday and it was a really special thing to do.
